Syn Tawa Energy was founded in 2011 with a vision to develop renewable energy projects by deploying innovative clean technology solutions that enable production of renewable and cost competitive fuels to address the global demand for alternative energy while protecting the environment.

The name “Syn Tawa” originates from the language and culture of the Hopi Nation. 

“Tawa” is the Hopi word for The Sun, which is the source of life on our planet. “Syn” represents the synthetic gas created from any carbon based feedstock used to produce liquid fuels.

One meaning of this symbol for the Hopi Nation is: “Together with all nations we protect both land and life and hold the world in balance.” Syn Tawa believes in this philosophy and it is the foundation of our corporate culture.
